Eagle Eye in flight!

Special offerings for a spiritual summer!

This year, in addition to the four Eagle Eyes for young adults (Fargo, Princeville, Anchorage, and Youngstown), and four Institutes for teens (Christendom, Princeville, Toledo, and Fargo), Eagle Eye is happy to announce three special summer offerings!

Backpack Alaska and Soar with the Eagles!

July 25 - August 3

A four-day backpacking trip will take young adults into the heart of one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Alaska. The 26-mile Crow Pass trail south of Anchorage provides spectacular scenery and views for hikers, and is accessible even to hikers with little or no experience.

The trip will include: a day of tourism in Anchorage (Saturday, July 26th) before striking off for four days on the trail, with daily Mass, Offices, and Holy Hour in God’s outdoor cathedral! Coming to the trail’s end on Wednesday, July 30th, we will begin a mini-Eagle Eye session at a chalet in Girdwood, Alaska that evening. With classes in Philosophy and Theology, Mass, Adoration, time for quiet, and daily hikes to various beautiful sites around Girdwood, this mini-Eagle Eye provides all of the fellowship of a camp, with the spirituality of a retreat, and the joy and discovery of a formation workshop!

Each person will be responsible for his own travel arrangements, but once in Alaska, the cost of the program is extraordinarily low: only 150 per person for food, and lodging and participation in the program for 8 days! To sign up, please contact Aaron McCombs, the coordinator for the trip as soon as you can!

“Come Away to a Quiet Place…”
A Silent Retreat With the Gospel of St. John

July 16-20

Join with young adults from across the country in Princeville this summer as we plunge into the “deep waters” of the Gospel of St. John on a 5-day silent retreat. Each day, the Brothers of St. John will offer three talks on the Gospel of St. John, shedding a light to help retreatants enter into afternoons of Eucharistic Adoration, mornings with the Word of God, and days structured by the chanting of the monastic office. In addition, the Brothers will be available for spiritual direction and confession throughout the retreat. Retreat dates are July 16th to July 20th, and the cost is a free-will offering.

To register, please contact Father Nathan at brudernathan@yahoo.com before July 1st. If you could let him know as soon as you are interested, it would help him a lot to plan the retreat! Thank you!

Ora et Labora Summer Service Session

August 10-17

A perfect blend of prayer, service, friendship, and formation, the Eagle Eye Ora et Labora Session offers young adults the opportunity to pray daily Mass, Adoration, and the monastic Office with the Brothers and Sisters of St. John, while working with the Brothers to stain the Priory! Every day will feature two hours of classes in Theology and Phillosophy, time for fellowship around a campfire, and personal time as well. Besides everything you will get out of this week, the Brothers really need your help! Your help will go a long way for the Brothers while also give you all of the joy of a retreat, and the benefits of a summer session.

You may come for all or just part of this terrific experience. Cost will be minimal.

Please contact Father Nathan at brudernathan@yahoo.com to register or if you have any questions. Contacting him as soon as you can would be helpful! Thank you!
